Bredene, Bredene aan Zee.
AOK 15, KVA A3, Stp.Gr. Oostende, Eisenbahnbatterie E690, Stp. Von der Goltz/Bruchmüller.

This location lies north of Oostende along highway N39, together with the famous "tram lijn" (streetcar ) along the Belgium coast. Close to the Duinstraat and the Gentestraat you can park your car along the highway and start walking into the dunes for about 200 meters. At the beach you have to go to the left and start climbing up the dunes where you will see the beautiful 636 Fire Control Post bunker. This is the only one still left, several other bunkers and recently also the 621 are gone.
The bunker gave direction to four 28 cm railway guns placed on a turntable, that could turn 360 degrees, called Kurze Bruno. The four pole's on top of the bunker have been placed after WWII by the Belgian Navy for some purpose. The bunker has a big annex built behind the main part that looks like it is built in Vf-thickness.
